Recently, our founder, Lisa DeMaria Cleary, was honored to be featured in Shores Spotlight for her incredible journey from personal hardship to professional triumph.

Lisa’s path to transforming Michigan’s home healthcare landscape is as inspiring as it is heartfelt. Growing up in Highland Township, she witnessed firsthand the challenges of navigating complex health issues through her mother’s struggles with diabetes. This personal experience ignited her passion for nursing and set her on a mission to provide the same care and dignity she saw in the nurses who supported her family.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Eastern Michigan University, Lisa gained years of invaluable experience as a Home Care Nurse Case Manager. But her vision extended beyond her individual role. Inspired by her father’s entrepreneurial spirit, Lisa took the bold step of founding Affinity Home Care in 2015. Since then, the company has grown into a leading provider of in-home healthcare services, supporting patients across Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, and Northern Michigan counties.

Lisa’s story is a testament to the power of empathy, resilience, and dedication to excellence. At Affinity, we strive to embody these values every day, offering a range of specialized services—from wound care to chronic condition management—with a personal touch that makes patients feel like family.
